Very cool looking frame. Are you going to run the body as well?

That sure doesn't look like a Funco chassis to me. The Funco SS-2 was a favorite chassis to copy for several builders and is often confused for the real deal. Hows about some photos of the body, I'll be able to tell for sure.

No, sorry man, that's not a Funco. Having said that, who cares. It's still a strong looking chassis that should serve you well.
I think you should fix the body up and run it.

If you are trying to put switch box in front of steering wheel, i would suggest not. its a real b^%$# to get the switches flipped while moving. but that just my opinon

X2 plus that aluminum hurts when you bust your knuckles on it. I'd put it on the roof.

Just search google for "tube cap" bazillion to choose from ...and I never exaggerate. Dirt cheap too.

BTW, cool looking buggy Bobby

Hello,

I am new on here but just wanted to point out that the car IS a Funco! Just not a SS2. It is a SS1 which is a very rare and significant car. The SS1 won most of the major races in the very early '70's including overall wins at the Baja 1000 and Baja 500.

I knew if anyone could ID this car it would be you, learn something new everyday. Bobby looks like you found a piece of off road history, good find.
