I got to work on my buggy last week.
Had to stop to make 10 wooden catapults kits for my son scout den.
Now I can get back to working on it again.
Its getting closer.

Norm, that looks great, get the back end done, then it's time to enjoy it.

Thanks Mike
When you right click on the last picture you see the box with the 3x3 I got from you.
The box in the plastic bag has my 5 rib in it.
I may drive it a little before I do the rear. Not sure yet as I took my insurance off of it when I broke it.
I may go ahead and do the rear and then get it insured. Not sure cause I have been wanting to go for a ride.
(Jan will be 2 years since my last ride)

Gm racks are absolutely horrible. I'm so glad i snapped mine clean in half when i got pushed into that tree in the july race. Bump steer is horrible, they're junk, my Saco economy rack is 20 times better. I can't wait until i jump up to a magnum when i redo my front end for the 2014 season. I would post up some pics but it likes to gave me difficulty. :/

Hunter, was your rack a center or end load?

Great job Norm, really enjoyed reading this thread. How many turns of the steering wheel is it from lock to lock with that GM rack? And how many inch of rack travel is the result?

Oh and does your wife get as mad as mine when you get overspray on the garage floor? I told mine that was to remind us of all the memories that we will have :)

Jerm, The rack itself has 2-1/4 lock to lock. On the buggy, I only tried it once tonight because I don't Have my lines yet but it's 1-1/2 to 1-3/4 lock to lock (leaks oil). I have a 8" over beam and 4" over arms and combos spindles. It looks like it may turn sharper than with my stock beam (I don't know yet).
Ya, my wife now wants me to repaint the floor when it's done. I don't think you ever get done with a buggy. :D
I have some of mad mikes rear trailing arms, a 5 rib trans, some new seats and all require changes to my frame. So maybe I should paint the floor red.

Nice job, looks great. Take some kitty litter and put down on that over spray and then take a 2x4 board and work it over the area until the litter is crushed down real fine. Spray it off with some water and your over spray should be gone. It also works great on oil leaks and stains as well. Chad
