Post subject:  new buggy build!

lets start it off by introducing myself my name is william close im in 23 years old and am from sw pa most people call me close and im pretty sure most of u know my uncle whose always on here and has a pretty sick buggy (davehix) im pretty new to the entire buggy building thing for most of my life ive built demolition derby cars until just last year when i finally sold everything and purchased a buggy from dave hix woman tonya it was pretty basic buggy with 1915 and 3 rib in which it ran really well but i uhhhh.....kinda abused it a lil! so it was time to upgrade after she blew up on me in wellsville this is wat it looked like when i first bought it
Image

after tearing it apart
Image
i changed alotta stuff on the frame so by the time u see the finished project u wont reconize it i added x brace behind seat larger tree bars and totally redid the front of it
Image

also purchased a set of race trim seats and a set of 7 in hid off road lights

Image

since changin rear arms i mad a set of front arms that are 2 in longer i used 1 in solid round stock with 1/4 thick x 1 in to box them
Image

i had full intentions on buildin 2387 stroker for this but instead i went cheaper route when i got a deal on 95 subaru 2.2 i got harness and everything for $100 i also up graded transmission i went from 3 rib to 6 rib nose shift i got adaptor and exhaust from out front motorsports

Image

i aslo eliminated the rear torsion with eliminators from appletree and put a set of air bags under it
Image
Image

i aslo added power steering by using a steering box that was used on a frined buggy before in which he gave me to put on mine (scott beneke)

well enough talkin ill just start posting pics its not completely done but its almost there non of this would be even possible with out the help of all the guys from around here espicially dave!!

Image
spindleafter i beefed them up

Super cool transformation.. When we get buggy of the month working again, I think this would be a great buggy to nominate..

Well. I've done some changing on this thing since last time I've posted. Srry water cooled guys but the sub ie just had to go. I have a Brand new 2387 built by Dave hix and I must say this thing is awesome finally got to take the buggie to wellsville last weekend with the new motor and all I can say is wow the throttle response and power it has is a lot different from the sub ie no waiting for the power to come in on this thing. And I also have a fresh set of cut stones to go with the new air cooled Image
