I got the cavalier running today. I cut the wires going to the vats and she fired up. I know it's not supposed to bypass them but it did somehow. The engine sounds real strong. I'm excited about it now. I should be able to order the adapter kit, clutch and pressure plate first of march. I would buy it next week but I have a snow goose hunt next weekend:) what clutch and pressure plate should I run. Stage 2?

I would run a stage 2 with crush lock disc. I assume you will be running a stock size 200 mm flywheel

I run a stage 3 pressure plate with a kushlock clutch and I was able to make it slip by building boost and taking off in second gear one time. However, the clutch has been installed for several years now. Anyway, I would go with the stage 3. It's been a great clutch and pressure plate.

Take a look at Kennedy engineering's spec sheets then look at the engine specs the torque out put. I went with a clutch that just met my needs and would allow the clutch to slip a little at max power so as not to blast my trans into oblivion. You need a weak link some where or you will have a pile of transmissions like Passat. Some folks believe in overkill.

I have gave up on the wire harness. I'm not patient enough to figure it out. Engine wiring.com's website is not working so who else has a plug and go wire harness and ECM?

Southern Buggies, Enginewiring.com, CBM in California (They sell plug and play on eBay as well for $1000), there are others as well.

Did you need to put a bung in your tank or is your ECO returnless? How 'bout a surge?

I wish I was still working on my engine but I got mired in this dang suspension baloney

Haha I can't figure out how to upload the video using tapatalk. But I can tell you it is a huge upgrade from my old 1915cc. Probably double the power if not more. I just love the instant torque and the ability to just putt around and then romp on it without spitting and sputtering. Not to mention just bump the switch without having to pump the throttle.
