Final drive ratio on this 307:1 combined with the 339:1 passat is a 1041:1 .1st gear is for sliding houses over lol.I only use 2nd and 3rd for hills. My wife loves hp and I'm really glad I have a stretched timing chain. But I guess I'll fix it after my sons new front end is finished. It will do 70 in fifth fast and easy.I wish I had of used an automatic. Can you imagine going thru 4 or 5 gears on a hillclimb!

What exactly does this mean and how did you come up with these numbers?so your motor turns 1041 times to your axle turning once. Chad

Oh sorry...the "pinion" on the vw 5 speed will turn 10.41 turns for 1 tire turn.Of coarse the ratios of 1st -5th gear ratios are a player, wheel size etc.Front wheel drive trans have like a giant gear instead of a miter type gear found in a ring and pinion set up.But then again these trans are high geared to start with. 1.8 and 2.0 trans come a little lower gear. But above all it will roast those new cut TSL 37" swampers in 2nd.

it's only intimidating with the wife driving.I really don't want to fix the stretched timing chain. She will put us into a tree with her foot on the gas and mine on the brakes.I'm serious. You are going on a RIDE if you are in any passenger seat with her.

Here's pics of the biggest bang for your buck. Too build, maintain and fuel costs. Everything is junkyard or homemade. Check out the front rims made from 16" donut spares and 6, 3" angle iron. lol

I have a few enemies. I am well hated on this site. Maybe cuz it puts the vendors and sponsers out. Somebody straighten me up if I am wrong. Somebody out there is throwing a wrench in my game. I see all pics perfectly, but slow to load. Dave Phillips 205 702-5038. Went riding again tonite. That bad ass bastard buggy will lite it up. Going again tomorrow a.m. at Leeds at 9:30. I ask...how long does any trans last? 2-3 years? FWD Passat is still going after 6 years. Shorty Power glides are great but who keeps going? Is Mendola or Weedle trying to hush me? Kennedy? IDA starters? Superflow? CB? .......etc.? I will probably get kicked off of this site if I am right.
