haha might get painted next summer, no need to paint it right now when were goona go beat all the paint off in the woods hahah
And the frame is for my 97 f350 that got wrecked and bent the frame. the frame in the background is one we went and picked up on by the border of indiana and illinois this weekend as a replacement to do a frame swap on my truck which is the current project now that this buggy is done haha

so we are still messing with the carb problems this year, still is acting lame and acting as if its aying down. have the lower jets at 145, upper jets 180, and idle jet at 50, any suggestions? plugs are clean so its not running too rich, becoming really frustrating to deal with

I had a cylinder with 50 psi from sitting in the rain without a spark plug for years. and let it sit overnite with Marvel Mystery oil and the comp. popped up to 158 the next day. Great stuff! I tried the pb blaster but it took the Marvel to break the stuck ring loose.

in delhi, actually sent you a text today to see if you could give some insight, i took apart the carb today and soaked it and put some 55 idle jets in, 80 pump jets so gonna get it back on the buggy tomorrow to see how she does. we didnt have anything small enough to drill the 2 mm holes in the throttle plates so couldnt do that

well after toying with it this week, i decided on the pump jets at 80, the idle jets at 65, the lower jets at 150 and the uppers at 200. also found out the engines size is a 1835. also this past week i took the carb off and cleaned it, enmptied the fuel tank and cleaned it, got everything back on and she runs great! it never used to even idle and as soon as it fired up it was idling! i just had to tune the mixture screws in which wasnt bad and it now runs super strong, my uncle said its the best it has ever ran, great throttle response and so much power.
anyways we decided to take it out this weekend to our farm, got there and had to clear trails with the 4 wheelers and had a lot of down trees. after that we played with the rail and it was a blast, everything worked perfect for its first time in 10 years. i had a blast, was the 1st time really riding and drivin one, because we tried last year but had carb problems.
got a picture of a little hole we got dug into hahaha.
only issue is i am way too tall for the bugggy, so he drove most. i drove it a little bit but nothin crazy because i wasnt comfortable, my haead hits the top cage and my legs are so long for the setup it didnt feel right, uncle said we can try movin the floor down for head clearance and movin pedals but idk if i want to, its his beast i guess i'll just build my own,
was cool to be there with him though he was lovin every minute of it, wished he never parked it.
here are some pics!

Hitting your head is never good on my buggy I tilted the seat back
and put two 2 by 4 under the front and bolted it down it will give
you a little more head room and bring your legs back some plus it
feels like your sitting in a recliner

had it out agian this past weekend, had my cousin trying to learn how to drive a stick on it and wasnt doing so well. it ran pretty good but she got it stuck and we noticed it was losin oil too and was hot, clutch didnt feel right either. when we loaded it up i also noticed it was sitting cockeyed. it ran fine after we let it sit for a few hours and cool down but was still losin oil.
was cleanin it and the quads up today, realised the front drivers side shock had collapsed so that was the issue with the stance, also took the skip pan off and one of the pushrod tubes spit out the middle seal on it so tonight i pulled all the push rods and tubes and cleaned the seals and seats, put em back in and checked valve adjustment. and found our oil leak is comin from the oil filter circle, so we got new shocks and an oil filter kit and gonna install those and change the oil too in the next couple days. also gonna see if the clutch is out of adjustment. if it isnt we may be installing a new clutch too
will keep updated

well, I have been super busy since the last time,

We rebuilt his 84 f250 that he bought brand new back in the day
http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/12624 ... st13448957
that is the build thread for it, it turned out awesome.

we did find out that the oil leak was coming from the bottom of the block, it is corroded really badly, we got it back together, and had to use some j b weld, so we will see how long that lasts. I feel it wont for very long but its worth a shot, so if that goes, it'll be time for a new block.

we are planning on going out this summer with it again, but will also be refreshing his 97 f350 plow truck so we will indeed be busy.

I do feel bad though, I dont forget about you guys, We just have been swamped with the trucks lately!!

Hope everything is goin well!!

My guess is the shock failure happened due to the way you have it chained down on the trailer...its not ideal to compress the shocks when hauling,,i suggest strapping the tires down instead of the railtubing, doing so compresses the shock and might make it compress to far..Ive seen many ppl strap their harleys down this way i and I know from exp. that it will make the front shocks on a harley leak..something to think about.

Hmmmm, I know he has always chained them down like this, and it is completely chained down to where the suspension and shock cant travel any,,,,the shock can travel just not full length,

also remind you the shocks that one broke were over 15 years old and had been sitting in weather for 10 plus years!!!

Big update.
Got some denman ditch diggers, 150 for the set so we were happy.

Darrell built us a BADASS 1915 full flowed as41 block

A kennedy clutch

I put a new oil cooler on, put the jet doctors in,

Got new throttle set up

Still got to set the crankcase breather kit up and weld the oil fileter bracket on and put skid plate on.

Just to anyone interested.... Darrel was great to deal with, and his work is awesome. we cant wait to take it out for the first time, this motor is badass..... Darrell put up with us which i appreciate and also me stoppin by we just sat around and bullshit for awhile, VERY GREAT GUY cant wait to go riding with you guys. Dave was over darrells a few times to so finally got to meet him and he put us in touch with darrel and gave us a few things Which we appreciated, GREAT GUY ASWELL
