Been slow going... All the welding minus the chassis brace kit is done IE: finished all the gussets. I'm working on getting the bearings installed on the arms so I can get them mounted. I managed to mock up the seats and will start tabbing the floor out this week... Once I get the driving compartment mocked, I will finish the chassis bracing, dash bar, etc.

So how does that flooring hold up to weld splatter? Always worried me about them.

Yea, roger that - I wanted to get my seating figured before I did the X bracing, but plan to do an X right behind the cockpit.

I wanted to just mock fit the floor - it's coming off for the rest of the welding. I don't want to take any chances lol

Oh ok! lol - it actually holds up fairly well. I've pulled some molted metal from it, but nothing crazy!

On Saturday I was able to get the trans mounted and started mocking the suspension and axles. I'm running 930 CV's and I was able to get 14.5" of travel at a safe 23* at droop. I've only got around 15* at bump, but my frame is in the way lol - it's ok because its at a perfect point where my skid will be ~ .5" from hitting. I had a couple issues fitting the arms due to the torsion, but the solution will work.

This will be close to riding height...

Image
IMG_0747 by kobetime247, on Flickr

This close to full droop...

Will get the other side done next weekend... I'm starting to look at coilovers now - I'm tempted to go with FOA's.... (I can 2 x 2.5 reservoir coilovers for the price of 1 Fox or King) Thoughts?

The build looks great! You may want to weld in a mid tranny mount with that much horse power.

Thanks! Nice suggestion on the mid-mount. I've been wondering myself if I should integrate one. I took a look at your site - we ride (when I'm in MI) a lot in the Baldwin areas as well. Well, there, Roscommon, and Silver Lake primarily. Maybe once I get this thing done we can catch up on the trails.

Yeah man, the Avery arms are awesome and should take some abuse!

Should put out decent power lol.

I wanted the 2.0 LNF so bad but I couldn't find enough pocket cotton. Those things are pricey! The twin scroll turbos will be awesome in a buggy - almost no lag whatsoever. Really looking forward to watching this thing scat on youtube when your done.

Been a loooooong while for posting on this thread lol! I've just been too busy! I've actually made quite a bit of progress though.

Rear suspension is done. I'll have about 16" in the rear:

Got the front and rear bracing done:

Along with the rear brakes, radiator mount, brake lines, etc.

Fuel system is done:

Been playing with my dash ideas and wanted a "cockpit" feel. So borrowed some ideas from the Tatum cars. Also have been working on body panels, wiring, gauges, speaker system, etc.

I''ve got a pretty in-depth wiring scheme planned - started on it in my 'free' time. I'll see if I can dig up some pics.

Actually, I ditched the 2.0 - will be boosting the 2.4!

If you accidentally got my 2.4 LE5 order mixed up with a 2.0 LNF, I wouldn't complain. :D
