LMAO, don't you love it when they plan it out for you to drive. And Ron I had to drive out of the woods with no steering in tight trees, did it, but it sucked, lol. Cutters alone just aint enough! |

You got that right reno, smokey always had wore out tires and a wore out motor but still hurt peoples feelings. Mosleys buggy has got one hell of a motor, best sounding 1915 ive heard in a while. |

i never got to ride with him in jemison, i was still a teenager at the time, but the stories of him in his buggy was things of legend..i believe it after seeing him spank everything AND everyone in fdale on numerous occassions. i remember him and busby hauling two buggies in behind an ole panel stationwagon with smokey's buggy still idleing, had been all the way from chilton county, lol |

what is the easiest/best way to get the three layers of paint off? and is there a certain type of spray paint that seems to hold up the best or worst? |

mosley212 wrote: what is the easiest/best way to get the three layers of paint off? and is there a certain type of spray paint that seems to hold up the best or worst? Sandblasting is probably the easiest.I know paint ain't cheap anymore but use to go to big lots or a discount store and buy elcheapo spray bomb and seemed to work as good as anything in a can.Sherman Williams makes a industrial paint that I used one time,I put there primer on then put two coats of industrial orange on it and it was best paint I have found personally.was tough as crap but still flexed a little so it never chipped off or cracked.the guy I sold it to had to spend days trying to sandblast it off, said it was like super glue on it.had about 150.00 bucks in it,but that was a few years back.Chad |

when you do paint it mosley, dont stop..let it tack and coat it again. joe had trouble when he cleared it, had waited for the first coat to dry and when he went to touch up the paint just blistered. had his whole buggy painted and it looked damn good. had to sand blast it and thats how he ended up with powdercoat keep the pics comin |

Would probibly suck for the whole buggy, but a wire wheel on a grinder does damn good too. |

| Post subject: | Re: mosley buggy build |
their is no easy way unless you pay someone else to do it lol but the best way is wire wheel on the grinder takes forever but works great fist use what kevin said then take your wire wheel to it and it comes right off honestly i would just spend the money to have it sandblasted and when spraypainting it i always used rustoleum and i like it and just go buy the cheap grey primer |

nitro_mudder wrote: Would probibly suck for the whole buggy, but a wire wheel on a grinder does damn good too. Nitro and Reno, I did some of my one seater with a cup brush on a grinder. After a wire came off the brush and pierced my goober i took it to have it sandblasted. Note to self if you use a brush on a grinder wear safety glasses and a cup. |
