i have been working on my new buggy for about a year and a half. now that its almost done, i finally have the time to start a build thread. i started off with a new berrien stalker frame that was already primered before i bought it. ![]() i purchased a 99 subaru legacy outback(thanks plumberbill) and a bellhousing adapter from smallcar.com ![]() i ordered a 6" wider warrior beam and some fox shocks. then went to my dads machine shop to make some 1" wider by 4" longer front trailing arms ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() my first idea for front shock towers were a rounded hoop. but i didn't think it would look right with the angular design i had in mind for my rear shock mounts. so i kinda stole the design from pictures of DVS1s buggy(i hope he doesn't mind). ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() headers my dad made for me. he's a metal working genius ![]() decided to do the wiring with alot of help from my dad and my girlfriend, who happens to be an extremely smart electrical engineer ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() all i wanted for christmas was to have my buggy done. so santa claus(aka my dad) put on his work clothes and lended a hand ![]() ![]() eagle performance 3x3 trailing arms(thanks odyknuck) ![]() ![]() more pics in random order ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() and my favorite part of the build so far. my dad and i designed and made our own front brakes. it uses an easily replaceable rotor off of the rear of a 2001 suzuki gsxr sportbike ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() i'm open to any and all opinions and feedback. thanks for looking |

Some nice work in this one Out of interest as we're running the same dampers, if you don't mind revealing it - what valving are you running in your Foxes? |

compliments mean alot to me from you guys. thanks. i ordered the shocks with 50 compression and 30 rebound. i'm thinking now that the compression might be too stiff in the front. there's probably gonna be some fine tuning in my future. |

Thanks, I know it's not the same usage but it's nice to see what other people are running. FWIW, I've just revalved the fronts of ours to 50 comp/50 rebound and it works pretty well. Rear's are a bit different though, 2 pairs valved at the rough equivalent (weird shim stack) to 80/70 each. |

Put on a little weight over winter and it's about the same - 1940lb |

My up date consists of a lot of fun, a lot bugs being worked out, quite a bit of carnage, and a lot more work. I cant wait to get this thing to be reliable. Right now I have to repair/improve something different everytime i take it to wellsville. I might be down for the rest of the season though unless i can come up with a 6 rib and some time to install it. I blew out my trans this past weekend on scooby |
