Back in the 90's I destroyed side shifts with large motors. You must run fwd motor and trans along with a Continnental diff and Stop it!

It depends on how you drive it. If you start jumping and side step the clutch, than yeah, its gonna break. I run a 3 rib on my buggy and with a little driving sense it has lasted for 2 years now. I have a six rib side shift on standby. We all enjoy seeing other peoples idea's and creativity. Not everyone has to run what you have passat2800 to have reliable fun.

That is a large piece of mud if you did not buy he whole car because there are so many little parts you will need.I am not all that , but no one seems to be helping the new guy out so bounce all your decisions off of me .205 369-7406.

I just ordered some 1.5" mild steel hose barbs from granger and brazed one to the thermostat housing and I also made a adapter by brazing two different hose bars together.

Smog electric air pump?(optional)Also there is a vacuum switch that is elecrically controlled by the ECU(compt) for the EGR valve.Everything smog and EGR I clipped or plugged. And it may be the OAT Outside Air Temp.

For your hoses, you can check this site. (it was post on woodsbuggy a while back)
Click on Product Guide, Hose, then Molded Coolant Hose Dimensions and Illustration by Size.
Look for some thing that is close then you can look it up at NAPA for a better picture.
http://www.napabeltshose.com/downloads/ ... FORWEB.pdf

As far as the plug with two wires, can you post a picture?

You can look at the last two pages of my ecotec swap and check out how I ran my radiator hoses.
There are a lot of pictures of ecotec swaps on this site and you can see many different way of running your hoses.

I made my rear bars removable so you can slide the engine straight in an out.

Just buying a high torque starter is cheaper then that setup. I only paid $200. Those adapter plates are $60 plus a $200 starter?

I got a piece of 1.5" O.D. iron pipe and a 2" O.D. Slid 1 into the other and welded them up. Get your hi speed cutter and grind some grooves around both ends so the hoses won't slip off. Mount it high and up close to the radiator. But 1st drill a 1/8 " hole at 12 O'clock and weld a 3/8 nut over the hole and put a bolt in it. That will be your burp port. Reieve trapped hot air (steam), it will push your water out your resevoir tank and overheat your motor. It will weld better if you leave the bolt in it while welding.
