I'm now looking to source a Audi v6 with its trans etc to try in my mid engine, the V6 trans has a 4.11:1 final drive, 217bhp (@6300rpm) and 221lbft torque down at 3200 rpm.. combined with 31" tall rears should work out good..

Sweet keep us posted on this build!

I've now got a list of the Audi transmissions with thier final drives..

I've got 2 options 4.11 final with a 3.8 first (15.53) or a 4.556 final with a 3.5 first (15.95).. I'm now trying to source one for a good price..

The 2.4 quad cam V6 is much much cheaper than the 2.6 or 3.0 (which are alloy blocks rather than heavy iron).. I may start with that, its 168bhp

Wow! The 2.4 would be the lightest I would imagine. A HEAVY motor hanging off the back will make you do uncommanded wheelies and HAVE to apply minimum gas going up a hill.I love the ratios.Passats jettas new beetles come in over a dozen sizes.

Nah the 2.4 IS an iron block like the early 12v 2.6 and 2.8.. only the 2.8 and 3.0 quad cams are alloy block and they cost 4 times as much as the 2.4..

As for wheelies.. remember I'm talking about mid engine instalation
