It appears from the front trans mount it had a car trans in it and probably a stock motor |

actually the only mods needed will be 2 new holes drilled to your existing front mount and you will be good to go |

But.... he is new to this and i think he would be better off to buy the mount kit, like Chris said. no holes to drill and he may get lucky enough for the supports in the back to fit to with no drilling. bmoore wrote: chris38375 wrote: bmoore wrote: actually the only mods needed will be 2 new holes drilled to your existing front mount and you will be good to go u can buy that kit that lets u go from car tranny to bus,no holes to drill drilling holes is alot cheaper than a 30 dollar kit |

[quote="davehix"]But.... he is new to this and i think he would be better off to buy the mount kit, like Chris said. no holes to drill and he may get lucky enough for the supports in the back to fit to with no drilling. the holes in the rear should bolt to the bellhousing, the same way mine mounts, which makes the holes in the front easy to lign up and no way to mess up the drilling of 2 holes in the front for a 3 rib mount |

He will have to make the rear car mount work to do that unless he mount from top unless bell dont have top mount right. cause the car mount are not alike. bmoore wrote: davehix wrote: But.... he is new to this and i think he would be better off to buy the mount kit, like Chris said. no holes to drill and he may get lucky enough for the supports in the back to fit to with no drilling. the holes in the rear should bolt to the bellhousing, the same way mine mounts, which makes the holes in the front easy to lign up and no way to mess up the drilling of 2 holes in the front for a 3 rib mount |

Just looks like horns to me. like it needs the mount bolted to it. bmoore wrote: Pak Rat 2056 wrote: and I"ll throw in a bus trans mount! there is the deal! dave it looks to me like his rear mounts are bellhousing mounts, i may be wrong |

Thanks bmoore and Dave. Ill found out here soon when i get a motor and trans. seems like it wont be any trouble, but time will tell! pakrat thats a hell of a package.. looks like that includes everything i need. Im just worried about that motor being raced and the wear and tear on it. But you did say it was still in the vehicle to run? |

We will see how it goes I might have to take you up on that in the near future. I'm focused now on just buying a good setup, but i wanted to know what i was in for when that time came around. Trying to figure out the best option to go with, this being my first buggy. Great help! |

Unless you pickup an engine and beetle transaxle cheap, skip that step and go to a bus set up. You will save money and headaches in the long run. Here is a picture of a homemade bus engine mount. I'll try to find more pics with the eng and trans out but I may have already posted them here.
