hey mike, you are correct those 1410 joints are huge, thats what I had in my driveshafts and dynatrac pro rock 60 steer axle on my cj crawler.

just a little fyi, you can put some of tom woods superflex joints in and you can get a little more angle, they are supposed to go 40* and up to 45* with a little clearanceing of the yokes, or get some ctm joints if you want the beefiest joint, they are greaseable but also have replaceable bushings instead of needle bearings but they are way more cost though

I can't see the need for anymore than what it has now and the yokes have already been clearanced in the castings. I jacked it up last night until the axles were at about 30 deg it had 25" + under the torsion housing. SO I really don't think it needs any thing else. Thanks for the info, might come in handy some day.

Nothing new to report for now and it might be a while. They are 35 X 14.50 X 15 that only measure 33" tall.

I looked at the whole build, very nice build Mike. I may have to throw in a fruit basket with that offer. I'd love to have one of those funco buggies. It's going to be a nice ride when done. I do graphics design also, if you have an idea for a paint job get me a good 3/4 view of the buggy as big as you can take and I'll paint it up for you to show you what it would look like.

After what seems to be forever I got a few more things done on it. I found that I could not see my front tires the way the fiberglass was, so I trimmed it down some and made a new stainless dash cover.

Having some concerns about the difference in years between my mock up motor and the 2009 I bought I switched them out to see what all needed to be altered.
Image

The oil pan and exhaust works out. The new oil pan is not something you would want to alter to make a shortened pan. It is way different in design, the bolt pattern didn't change so the older pans and pick ups bolt up.
Image
The two major changes were the new water pump relocates the goose neck so some work needs to be done there.
Image
And the throttle body was moved an inch forward and a half inch down, so my air filter needs to be adjusted, it will still fit, just a little crooked.

Up next is a new set of 4X5 trailing arms.

Since I was lucky enough to get the original Funco Filler plate with the car, I'm using it. Besides if I didn't I would have a huge hole in the left side panel.
The filler cap is off of a Bell Jet Ranger helicopter, so it 'might' be the fastest thing on the car.

I'm not a body man so this will need to do. Getting things ready for paint.

I guess my brain isn't at full run right now, but how does it push fuel up to your cell?

It has nothing to do with fuel Jeff, just to fill what would be a big hole with out it.

You know how it works. Time rich and money poor or money rich and time poor. This screwed up winter has changed priorities for me somewhat and I'm tired of saying "This year". So, if all the planets and all the stars align up just right, maybe.

Looks like all the planets and stars have aligned allowing me to maybe finish it this year.
LED light bar and it's tree bar, or my luggage rack.
Image

Up on it's side finishing all the underside welding, floor tabs and such.
Image

I ordered my rear shocks, starter, fuel pump, adapter plate and all the clutch stuff. The wiring harness and ECU has been shipped and all that's left is a trans rebuild. I sent all of my front suspension parts to powder coat today.
Transaxle Engineering is going to do the build and has me almost talked into a center shift trans instead of a nose shift so its possible all that fancy shifter stuff I built might be going into the scrap.
Still a bunch of work to do but I think it will get done this year.

All of the under-side welding is finished along with the floor

Even had enough material to build a box for the poly fuel cell to live in.
