Mike, those do look nice.
What are you going to do with your old arms?
Don't know why I'm asking, I haven't installed the last set I got from you.
I did talk with Todd at Precision Alloy about getting his drive/stub flanges. I should have some soon.
Norm

Precision Alloy, Todd Francis. He is just now getting started catching up on 930 conversion stub axles and drive flanges. Tell him Pittsburgh Mike said to call.

Finally after a long and truly messed up winter I'm starting to get back on track. First thing was a new set of rear arms. Redoing everything to go parallel swing required way more time and energy than it was worth so I built the same thing I had before. Those are next to a set of 4X3's.
The fiberglass is in the paint shop getting finished, once I get the arms finished it will be upper shock mounts, new upper transmission mounts, a few tabs and it's ready to go to powder coat

Looking real good. Those axles fit in there nicely.

Home stretch now... That's the best part. When it starts to feel more like a Sunday PowerBlock show. Everything is all brand new, painted and it all just fits.

No green, yuck. Thank you, all.

Yeah, that's going to be interesting, young and limber went out the window some time ago. Getting in is as easy as falling down, getting out is going to be the tricky part.

Not quite there just yet, getting close. After it comes back from powder coat, it'll feel more like that.

It's gonna be a shame to get that dirty & scratched up. It looks too damn nice to use.

Well, OK, if you insist.
I was on the home stretch getting ready for powder coat, everything else is finished, when this showed up.

I borrowed a 6 rib to mock up the chassis and didn't think anything else about it until a week or so ago when I put my 6 rib in to do the upper mounts. My trans is 3/8" longer than the one I used for mock up so nothing will work without some changes. The fix was to cut out the nose mount and use a mid mount plate

Since I started this build I had explored the possibility of using a Subaru Transmission and up until recently, it was not an option because of the ring and pinion ratios available. Now they have a 4:86 ring and pinion making this doable. In order to find out how doable it was for me to use it in the Funco I bought a Subaru 5 speed transmission and altered the case to make it 2wd.

If too much need to change to make this work, I won't do it for this build but the next one for sure. Over the next couple of days I'll see just what all needs to change and go from there. One step forward, one step back.
