Custom audio is what specialize in showing off at. If you gave me a wheel-barrow and told me I was gonna have to push it for the next two months, by day 3 I would have a stereo on it. No major progress this weekend... but I got a little done... The front is almost ready to pre-wire. I can't wait to start that. Don's Bus Box 6 rib with limited slip diff shows up this week and subaru should be here next week. Here is the stereo box mounted...

Rear shock mounts are double shear finally...

And I finished bracing my winch and got the fairlead mounted. Now I know it won't tear the nose off...

Thanks for all the compliments. :D

Well... I got alot done but most of it isn't picture worthy. Lots and Lots of wiring and I am trying to do it nice.
I did get my midrange/tweeter pods mounted. All the speakers are clear coated aluminum with rubber surround so I am gonna call them weather proof.

And Endless Wiring and lots of weather pack connectors to make.

Time to get all these wires out of my head with a little Long Island Iced Tea! :D

Where did you get those head lights? and how much were they?

The Headlights are Meyer Night Sabre Plow Lights. I won them on Ebay, but you can get them at any trailer store. You'll pay the premium at a store though ($250). I waited for a no reserve auction. They have so much room in the housing behind the bulbs that I am pretty sure I can fit all the guts for a nice clean HID swap.

Post subject:  Re: Chimpo experiment # 2

Yea, $250 is a little steep for my taste.

They do look really nice. I've never thought to look into plow lights. Good idea

250 is steep for my taste too. It is all about the Ebay patience... :D

Well... Wiring is 95% done. All I have left is the large gauge stuff for the battery, starter, and winch to put in. The way I laid it out, almost all the wiring stays in the console for a clean look. I will only have 5 wires going up front and 3 to the rear and the rest is what you see.
Image
Radio and Switch panel are in...
Image
And since I have had a bunch of people have said it looks like a hummer I thought I would be safe and give it clearance markers

Console Wiring is finished, and yes the E-STOP is functional. Kills everything but lights...
Image
And the electrical system is a go. I need one more blue gauge light but everything else besides tail lights and winch is done... and the stereo ROCKS!!! :D ...

Image
And My engine is built, but it is in the line for start up and testing and won't be here til after Thanksgiving. I told them I was really anxious to see it so they sent me a picture... :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

The holidays are a busy time at Outfront, but my motor finally arrived on Friday afternoon. :D After staring for the last month without much to do it was nice to get back to work! :D
Here is the Engine mounted on Buggy...

And I started on the rear hoop. The whole thing is still removable all the way to the fuel cell so it is easy to get in there and work if need be...

Finally able to get to the shop now that the snow is melting. :D There is a small gap at the bottom of the garage door where the floor is uneven. It is only about a 1/2 inch gap. This will give you an idea how bad the snow was blowing up here for the big snow storm a couple weeks ago.
Image

Once I got the snow back outside where it belonged I got the rest of the rear hoop and skid plate roughed in
Image

Here is a side view of it now that it looks a little more complete
Image

More coming soon if the weather holds.

My towhook got bent towing VW's lol. Ripped the rear cage off one last year when he caught a log. Upside, his new cage looks great! And he is one of the best guys I have had the pleasure of ridding with.
