I have to check my parts pile and see if I have some bus cv's floating around. I used to somewhere. Looks good.

Remanufactured my autostick pedals today. Had to make room for a clutch pedal. Basically just cut the brake pedal in half and moved the arms closer together making a smaller pedal.

Got my clutch pedal. Need some pics of how your mounting your slave cylinder. Dont think the stock bowden tube bracket is going to work.

ive very quickly learned that a buggy is never "completed". once I thought it was close I took a testdrive and that put me back about 20 steps. now beating myself over the head for not puting a 3 rib in it in the first place and now the buggys all tore back apart putting a 3 rib in. but thanks for pointing out that I dont have any pics of the complete buggy. I dont have enough room in my garage to stand back and take a complete pic. maybe ill just make a walkaround video.

tranny is mounted now. made a bracket for my clutch slave. now im looking at shift linkage issues. I thought I was going to be ok because my box was too high for the bug tranny. boy how i was wrong they really put the 002 hockey stick up there. it might have been ok except my shift rod hits the front brace for the rear seats before its high enough. I also think my shift rod is too short to use the adapters they sell. Im going to try to weld 2 late bug shift couplers together one atop the other, bottom one hooked to the shift rod and top one hooked to the hockey stick. has anyone tried this? I cant think of any reason why this wont work but what can go wrong will go wrong.

if you got a hydraulic clutch, you need to just put in a new peddle assembly too and be done with it! and i got some short axles ,have to check their size!probably all the other stuff too!

still need 15 5/8 axles, 2 bus cv's, flywheel (need 8 dowel to guide me drilling crank or a 8 dowel jig), clutch, pressure plate and gland nut bearing. if you have any of this id be glad to drive to cinti and trade some cash for them.

making some progress on the tranny. got everything mounted and tightened down. ended up bending my shift rod to make it work, not to bad just kinda bowed the whole thing a little. clutch slave mounted just gotta run the line.would i be ok to run soft nickel line all the wat to the slave cylinder or do i need to hose it a little way? any auto parts store part numbers for a hose? still trying to find some cheap axles and a flywheel. appletree has a lightened 8 pin flywheel for 80 bucks is this a deal?

You'll need a hose on the slave cylinder end since it moves when the clutch is actuated. As far as hose I guess that depends on what size hard line you run and what fittings. Not sure on the flywheel. The lighter it is the less rotating mass you'll have. A heavy flywheel will give you more of a "torque" feel and get you rolling easier. Of course it'll rev quicker lightened. Maybe ask that question in "Air Cooled" section.

If you need the the axles and CV's and stub axles to put a bus transmission in stock length type 1 trailing arms give me a shout, I can hook you up with all German parts for the conversion.
Good Luck

Did you get the auto stick fixed or upgrade to a new trans?

and i cant forget about my new best friend this winter. 125000 BTUs is major overkill for my garage but i like being able to get it 80 in about 30 seconds then shutting it off :D
