Here's a couple updated pics of the buggy, got 'er home now and we're puttin' the finishing touches on the frame still, it dont look very different from previous pics. We've finished the tree bars, front bumper, tabs, and did alot of finish welding and grinding. Here's what we've got so far. I'll get some more as soon as it has enough progress to show! All the little stuff that takes days of work dont even make the frame look different!

Here ya go:

Change the file size of your pics on your host site & it will stop cutting them in half. I had this problem with a few I posted & it did the trick. I kept reducing the file size till the whole pic showed up on here. Some are in the range of 640x320 or something like that before they fit.

Badass single seater. I cant wait to see how she goes together.

Still makin' progress, seems like it's takin FOREVER.I reckon it's just cause I'm so anxious to finish it!? Well, got it flipped over (hopefully the first and last time it'll be sitting like this!) and welded up all the bars from the bottom and finished all the floor tabs today. I'm using these 4 days off school wisely! :)
Here's a couple I got:

Tonight I got it flipped back over and ready to finish seat mounts and start mocking it up a little more. I didn't get a chance to take pics of it on the floor sitting right side up, I'll get em as soon as possible. 8)

I was wondering what front trailing arms you plan to run with the stock beam? Also, if you are running a nose shift tranny what side shift linkage are you going to use? All I can find is that cheesy looking Jamar.

dunebuggynut, gary (turboblue) builds a linkage setup for sideshift, if that is what you are asking.

I am looking for an offset linkage for a single seater for a regular nosecone. The one Gary makes is for Vanagon 6 ribs that the shifter rod is on the side. I have a couple good ideas including one from baddvw. They are under my build.

You dont use an offset linkage or side shifter setup to shift a nosecone tranny in a single seater. You just use a vw shifter rod with 2 swivels ( like in a superbeetle steering column) in it, one next to the rear of the seat, and one in place of the shifter coupling on the tranny. Need a good bearing for the rod to go thru at the rear of your shifter box, and another good one right before your first swivel. Gotta know what your doing when you set it up, though , or it will not shift well.

I'm running custom built 1" x 2"extended stock arms. As for the linkage, Dad answered your question before I could get to it.

Thanks for all the input guys. All that's left to do to the frame is make my cable clutch setup and finish "swiss cheesin" all of my brackets and everything for weight savings. 8) It oughta be powder coated in the next few weeks, it'll actually look different then!

Made some more progress over the 5 day thanksgiving break from school. It's comin along, starting to really look like a buggy. got all my controls fitted up all the way, mounted the Kirkey in, cleaned up and painted a bunch of motor parts I'm re-using, polished the back wheels, mounted tail lights, and started doing some weight-saving mods. 8) It don't really look like it, but we made a BUNCH of progress the past few days. Time for powder coat after I sandblast it!

Here's what I got:

(The back of it isn't really long and stupid looking like it is in the pics! Haha. I dunno why the cameras do that to em.)
