i picked up a 93 s10 blazer a few months ago it has a 4.3 and 700r4... i got a bunch of tubing the last time i bought it and it all 1.5x.095 erw.. does anyone think this stuff will be strong enough to exo my blazer?.. i needed five sticks to finish the buggy and i have 10 left so im hoping i can put a pretty nice cage on it and trail ride it... i have axles to put in and going to use some yj springs on the front hopefully get it to tuck 35's and be around 5.5 feet tall

Erw Is about the same strength as DOM untill you bend it if I remember correctly. Id by the 5 sticks of DOM and use those for your main Hoops and the ERW for the rest.

yeah im trying to get by without buying more tubing... i have a ton laying on the floor in the garage and hoping to put it to use and not make a bigger mess lol..

im thinking im going to xbrace the roof and make it protect the body but i am thinking there will be minimal bending except the obvious big bends.. you think if i just brace the bends good that it'll be ok? i feel like it is plenty strong for the buggy and as stout as it is i think it will be strong enough to support the blazer in a roll over..

Might be, problem is once you find out that it isn't it might be to late. Personally I would get the DOM for the 2 or 3 main hoops over your head. Then ERW for the rest should be just fine. Just not an area I would be willing to chance it on a 3k to 4k lb vehicle that could end up sitting on your head or worse yet your passengers head. Just my $.02 Never know when one of those ball jars will find you on the trails

ok welll im gonna have to give it some thought.. i would like to just use up what i have. if i get more tubing im gonna change my mind and build a 4x4 buggy.. but i have to get the rail buggy out of the garage and put the motor back in the race car for the first race on may 21st.. thinking about taking a break on the buggy until i can acquire some more parts for it..
