Im getting a buggy soon to, so i'd like to see what trailers are the easiest to make/buy

If you are building a new one build a H trailer. They drive and load much better. |

do you mean with the axle more near the center? Wouldn't that make for a real light tongue weight? this is of interest to me because having "finished" my buggy the next project is a trailer... |

No. "H" trailer means with runners for your front tires to drive up on and rest on. A "T" trailer just has a bar under the belly pan that angles upwards towards the tongue of the trailer and the front wheels just dangle. You aint gonna have much tongue weight with either style of trailer hauling only a rear engine buggy (well most won't, Firebug might  ), but the "H" is MUCH better to deal with. It can be a p.i.t.a. to load a busted buggy on a T trailer.

You could not give me a "T" trailer. Well maybe, then I can convert it to an "H" trailer. I see absolouty no advantage too a "T" trailer. The only one I have seen that I come close to liking is Madmikes with the Trolley guide wheel that he connects to the front of his Buggy when Loading and Unloading. Hands down "H" trailer is the way to go. |

Hands down "H" trailer is the way to go. its funny you say that ody, a friend i ride with has one and all he does is say how much he hates it. we will be standing around shooting the shit at camp, he will here a buggy and go dam t trailers. so H trailer has to be the way to go. |

I have had both a t and an h trailer and the h is much better. I now have a single axle 14 by 7 utility trailer and is by far my favorite yet. it towes fine behind my 1/2 ton van and i can load more crap on it if needed not to mention it is very handy for other hauling needs also. On another note my buddy has a t trailer with the center rail being 2 inch sqaure tubing instead of round and he has a boat trailer roller on his buggy and therefore it stays centered when loading it. |

Marty, why are you wanting to switch? Weight or tired of swapping tires? If it is the tires just trim off the side rails at the rear of your trailer. It is nice being able to load gear and wood on the trailer. The wind drag makes about as much difference as the weight will. IMO |

IMO Just thinking it would be easier on my truck on long hauls and easier to park out of the way at events . And yea I am tired of swapping tires and dont want to hack up my ol rusty trailer

Do yourself a favor and do an H trailer. I hated t trailer especially if something is broke on the buggy. |

Hi Fire bug. You know I had to put in my 3cents. You know the T and H advavtages and disadvantages. But please witness my lite weight, high "drive" on. I've been thru alot of trailers, but the great thing with this one is, I can go down a long ugly rutted washed out dirt road and retrieve my dead buggy with out bottoming out.It uses the rear axle of any front wheel drive car turned upside down.Low H trailers scrub out of the Burger King parking lot, other than that they are awesome.What ever fits your needs basically is what you should go for of coarse.Almost thru with my 4 wheel in the back, chain drive.(1 wheel in front of the other,(40" TSL boggers) full articullation and rotation) It looks awesome.Buick 3800. Taking it to Grey Rock next week.June11th. |

I converted my T to an H,and it hauls the crawler just as good as it does the buggy.

The reason I like H trailers it is lighter. It helps save on gas and is easier to move around. |

Bug ill makesome pics of mine, Its light enough ,but strong enough to pull one behind. IMO tongue needs to be thick wall so it wont bounce and is strong for pulling ,boat,buggy,4wheeler trailer behind. if you need too. |

i got ahold of an old 12ft long camper trailer knocked the top off moved the axle to the rear threw some 2x10 runners down built a set of ramps n love it, goin on 5 or 6 years now n usually pull it behind a lil S-10 blazer.... somone already put 3 cents in so heres my two lol, IMO H beats T but always entertaining watching my buddys load theirs until i have to go slide it back on..... also seen em beat on reverse to get it off the trailer straight too |

I watched a guy blow reverse out of 3 rib just unloading his buggy at Wellsville. I had trouble loading mine if the trailer was on a slope. |

personally I'm more interested in the T trailer due to the lighter weight - I'll be pulling with a volvo 850 sedan so the lighter the better. So far as easy loading, what about a strap winch on the front of the trailer like for a boat? The roller sounds like a good idea too, but I'd worry about ripping it off out in the woods (?) |

Just make the roller removable, dont need it on all the time. I still like a flatbed. Make the center planks easy to remove when just hauling the buggy, and whamo! you have an H trailer
