does it have a 0 bypass pump jet in it? I'm pretty sure you need a 0 for a single carb.

My dads 1835 has a bad hesatation on the bottom end, he running 40 idf changed jets and added fuel presure gauge. I told him to try electronic ignition, he running stock points, timing at 32 degrees any thoughts would be great. |

Rusty crusty springs in centrifical weights in distributor or carb pump jets clogged or torn diaphram or rusty spring behind carb diaphram?You know the book says depress pump while tightening diaphram.Also check plugs and plug gaps.Put a vacumm gauge on it if you suspect a wo out engine.Oh yeah, is his carb too big for the 1835? |

Is the timing set at 32 degrees BTDC at idle? If so....that is too advanced causing the engine to stumble on the bottom end and the 40 IDF is perfect for the 1835, my first buggy had that same setup with a 009 distributor with blue coil and it ran awesome. Check your fuel pressure, it may be too high overriding the needle seat in the fuel bowl flooding out the engine, it should be no more than 3 psi. |

It's tricky to get them dead spots out of single carb sometimes.Did you spray starting fluid around all intake boots? You should call Gary at Davis Racing,he knows how to make those single carbs run good. |

Thanks guys I'll have to get over to house and check a few things. I know hes got 200,135,50 jets in it. i'll check the pump and timing, the motor brand new 400 mile on it. |

u will probaly have to go up on ut idle jets,, a 50 is to little,,need to drill them out 2.5 at a time till the flat spot comes out |
