Id run a 5-rib unless your motor is built very well and has some good heads on it.Not to step on anyones toes here but i had a decent running 1915 and i had to work the clutch pretty hard on some hills until i switched to the 5-rib.Ive only seen a few 1915's pull a 6-rib like a stroker and one of those guys was Hollywood and Helmet guy.Of course this is my opinion though, just dont want to see a man get into a situation on a bad hill because of gearing.

He's right,,,the 5 rib is geared nice for your engine. You can put 4.86 r&p in the 6 rib and have the best of both worlds. Do it when you put in a super diff.

i already have the 6 rib i don't know what the motor has done to it, i just got the buggy yesterday and i got the 44's hooked up today
when i rode with this buggy the guy had a 3 rib on it and he would tack out really fast so i think i can run the 6 rib and do ok
if you use the clutch will i be able to keep my rpms up or not

just gotta try and see, In the mean time save up for a super diff. and find a side shift 091 for the R&P and get a good tranny man to install. The side shift is often a stronger case too. good luck

the qualifying hill will be climbable by nearly any buggys.
The hills may or may not be chosen yet. so not to give anyone an advantage.

if you have a 3 rib i would run it until you build the bigger motor.the 6 rib just seems to be to tall first gear.my friend just changed from a 3 to 6 rib with a 1915 and he is hating it on long climbs and says its like he is constantly in between the gearing he needs on the trails to lug around the woods.this is his experience with this combo.i like the 3 rib myself everybody says they break 1st gear easy but knock on wood i abuse the crap out of mine and have never tore 1st out, have ripped rev out a couple times but it was understandable for what i was doing when it happened.chad

I like the six rib. It lugs up the hills nicely.

i had a 1915 with a three rib and i liked it alot it took alot of abuse and never gave me any trouble first gear was a little short but as long as your motor can handle holding the rpms it beets runing out of power and gettin in a bad situation on a big hill

i think i am going to put the 6 rib on my 1915 because my papaw has a saturn buggy with a 3 rib on it and he can climb in 2nd gear, were also building another saturn buggy so i'm going to put my 3 rib on it
