I need an answer to this one as well. I found some chromoly ones for 150 bucks for 3/4 x 2 I think but dont know if they are junk. The guy has a 2"x2" ad on the Michigan Buggy Builders newsletter I just got in the mail.

i think tim at southern buggies has some good ones at least i know the ones on my buggy look just like the ones on willys buggy and he ask me if that is where i got mine but they were on the buggy when i got it so im not sure where they come from but i likem and they have held up real good so far

Chuck builds real good ones, and they're really light but extremely strong. They're almost identical to what Willy is runnin, all of us run em around here.

I personally like the Tweeds trailing arms with the combo spindles, it is what you want to spend and how much in a hurry you are, Dan's Performance Parts in California usually have them in stock. Here is the info...

You don't have to get the coil-over set, they have regular sets as well, but I think it is alot stronger if you get the coil-over ones, I have not been easy on mine and it holds up extremely well, I hit a tree once with my front right wheel and it bent both chromoly link pins and the beam as well, so it tells me that I can still get out of the woods like that and it won't hurt anything else along the way. If the Baja 1000 buggies run them and it does'nt break on them, it pretty much speaks for itself that it is tough.

What problems did the Tweeds have? That is the first time I heard that from anybody about it, it does not offend me at all, I am all about improving, let's hear the problems that they may have. I just bought the tweeds and think they look pretty tough. But I agree Junk compared to yours Mike. But no one sells those and the machine work is expensive to have done at a shop when you lake the resources. If you make them, they will sell! lol

I broke a Tweeds at the weld and they said they had some with bad welds and send it back for replacement,I asked about the rest that wasnt broke on my car and they said send them back when they break lol so live and learn,,,so I'm looking for some Fod's or Woods

Chad I wouldnt call them junk,,just a little more affordable!The only problem you might see with your are lower shock mount. It needs to be a double shear set up.. Now the latestragges are junk

They are very good arms. I have never seen one bent or broke. King Pin with Ball Joint spuds. They look good also.

Muddmutt, I would kill for a set of Woods or Foddrills, but at the time when I was building the rail, there was a 8-10 week waiting list on the parts being made and I needed it sooner than that and that's where I came across the Tweeds from Dan's and he had them in stock, I bought the last set of the combo spindles that has the needle bearings in them but no matter how much grease you put in them, they will still have some play in it and it is not wore-out....yet So far, they held up well because I do not do any jumping on my rail at all, just a front-end wheelie coming down when getting to the top of some hills. What is so special about the double shear on the spindles??
