There are dozens of buggies priced from about 3 grand to 4 grand that seem like they were tossed together with parts that were laying around. They all have stock 1600's & 3 rib or car trannies. Boxed stock trailing arms with car joints, drum brakes on most & wrangler radials on the rear. With a few 300 dollar frames I have enough crap laying around to build several of them myself. It seems to be a trend. |

When I started looking for one last december, the ones on ebay were outragous and the local one I did find was too high for what it was and the guy wouldnt go any less. I finally found one on craigslist that was titled (main thing I wanted so I wouldnt have to go through that process) and I bought it. Yes mine is needing a lot of work but for the price and it being titled and a good start that allows me to learn as I build, I am very happy with it. I didnt want to pay 3 to 4 grand for one and have to do chaanges to it when I will have alot less in mine and it will be done how I want it once I get finished. |

If I could just find a roller that comes with 3x3's, 930 joints, 6 rib & cut Boggers or V treads on it I might actually make it out this season. Ive got most of the parts but cant seem to work fast enough. I need something to toss my motor on & go or Im gonna be sitting out this season. |

yea i have to agree on this one.you cant expect to get out of them what you put in them imo.unless you ride with the guy that owns it then you really dont know what your getting.you do get what you pay for but if you have to change a bunch of stuff to siut you then you really have to spend double on stuff and you have more in it than if you build it yourself.half price of a build on most the buggys on here i think would be to high price for a buggy and i know that nobody would sell theirs for half but would you buy your buggy for half the build after its had two or three seasons on it from someone you dont know? and i mean a buggy you built not bought.i have over 10grand in mine would i sell it for 5000 no would i buy it for that not knowing me after a whole season on it.no.does this sound crazy or does anybody else feel that way.chad |

well said chad....main thing is ppl who are selling usually sell them...meaning a sucker born every minute. but if you think about and they are selling it for half what they have in it and its a decent buggy it isnt really that bad, if ya consider what a buggy cost even with good used parts....just like anything else motorcycles, atv's, trucks, you try to sell it for 2500.00 but you could part it it out and make more. sometimes double what you wanted out of it... |

I just seen a buggy on craigslist and the guy traded two 4 wheelers to it.He put it in the barn till the next weekend and when he fired it up it ran for a few minutes and locked up tight..It has a 1300cc motor and the only thing aftermarket on it is probably the steering wheel. He wants $3000 firm,i dont like putting peoples toys down but this guy the shaft hard and i cant see anybody offering anything over $800 for it.I dont know if i should tell this guy good luck or send him some of my old parts so he can get it going again before he turns against buggys for life |

In Atlanta, I am amazed how many buggys are on Craigslist. However, most of them have been sitting around for a long time and they want top dollar. A lot of them have Swing Axle trannys with 1600 motors and they think that is worth the same as a buggy with a 3 rib and a 1835. Then you have the nicer buggys. Nothing special just newer and cleaner and they want $6K to $8K. |

That guy got boned. Even running that buggy isnt worth a grand. |

Paid $5k for mine last year with the WC swap 930's 6 rib suspension seats 2 sets of rear wheels 3 sets front 2x3's and it ran Great! I havn't seen much sence that I would have rather bought for the money. Most seem like they have a long way to go to where mine was. And I feel like mine was just a fair deal, nothing special, just fair. Only |
