I got my buggy tore completely apart and was wondeering if I should convert it to irs now or just run the swing axle this season and change it over next winter. I read a lot about using swing axle torsion and with the irs parts but wouldn't it be easier just to cut out the whole torsion and weld the irs in? What is the reason other than the camber that makes people not wanna use swing axles? I have a spare irs assembly but I dont know what route to go about changing it over. |

Your already apart switch it over. I would not replace the torsion unless you were going with an aftermarket Custom unit. Its a lot less work to just add the pivots for the IRS trailing arms. There is a jig avalable for mounting the pivots on thesamba.com. Other than cost and the work to required to convert there are no advantages to leaving it swing axel only disadvantages. You are limited on travel. The camber will wear your tires on an angle and your contact patch is only on the outside edge most of the time. You can only use a sedan trans that will not hold up in the Woods for long. |

I would have to agree. If you have the $$$ - Change it over to IRS. |
