Hi Guys
Just got back home from Beeline Buggies in Kentucky and picking up my Xpedition 4 seater .
Now I am thinking about painting. I am going with OD green and black. My question is has anybody used
ospho rust and primer treatment to prime there buggies for paint. I haven't ever used this before and was thinking about it.

I take you haven't priced powder coating it? Mine cost $350, blasted and coated. Only way to go IMO.

go to an auto body shop to get your supplies if you have the tools aka paint guns and booth or room enough to make a booth at your shop or house...if you have all the right tools then it will cost a little less then powder coating and that is a really good deal on the powdercaoting

I also like the idea of being able to touch up however you want with the paint...there are alot of options to go with the paint...that are really durable as well!...

so go to your local auto paint and body shop and tell them what you have and what you are wanting to do and they can give you a break down on the price!...mine is going to cost me about 350 for 2 colors....frame , suspention....when power coating was going to cost me almost double...but here...the salt water can have some bad after effects if not powder coated right...so taht is why i am going with the paint idea...

my own two cents...

Tractor supply implement paint with the separate hardener is very good, and they have rattle cans that match.
Sand it,wipe down with acetone, and use an etching primer.
How about posting up a pic of your frame?

Dose tractor supply have O.D. GREEN thats the color I am painting the frame.
Was planning to go to Napa tomarrow because they mix paint for spray gun and put same in spray can for easy touch up.
Whay do you think about Ospho rust killer, metal protecter , etching primer , and just wipe it on let dry
clean and paint????
Here's a pic of frame
Thanks

Wiped down with acetone and sprayed with self etching primer should suffice.
I'd use a paint that hardner can be added to, the hardner makes it alot tougher.
I like the od green, that way you can spray black or brown everytime it's scratched and slowly camo it.
You can go camping with that bug.

Do you have a number for your powdercoater? Does he do 2 stage? I want candy red over chrome silver.
