if they are ditch witch tires u need a grooving iron,boggers u can cut lugs off with a sawzall |

i just want 2 cut a groove up the center of the treads just 2 make a inch or so gap up the middle |

we take cheap flat head screwdrivers and tack a razor blade on the end.. heat it up and works great... but theres a tone of ways.. |

Simplest thing is send them to KOKO in Ky he does a killer job on tires |

if i get any1 2 do it, it will b koko, but i like 2 try 2 do things first if i can. that way i learn and if i need 2 cut any more in the future ill b able 2 and wont have 2 worry bout findin some1 2 do it or havin 2 pay 4 it. saves me time and money. besides i just like havin something 2 do out in the garage. |

This is a link to the most popular Tire grover: http://www.speedwaymotors.com/DELUXE-GR ... 6583.html# If your just going to put 1" wide groves in them then maybe a circular saw with a Dado blade set to the desired depth. May want to run the blade backwards. I have not trye this, its only a suggestion. I have used a Sawsall for removing lugs on Boggers. Works a whole lot faster than a Grover. |

Moon Dog Let me say fist That I know nothing about tire cutting but I saw a used Firestone for sale a couple of weeks ago and asked the guy what he wanted for it he said $20 but I had to buy the other three to get it 2 denmans and 1 super grip just like yours and since I only had $ 20 a piece in them I tried cutting the super grip and I think it is how you are wanting to cut yours I was surprised how soft the tire was verses the denmans and Man it flexes now I am going to cut the sidewalls some . I used a cutting Iorn like Ody. posted a picture of and took KoKos advice I just went to town . Dont know if I took a wrong turn on the way to town but I went any way !

yea aboone thats exactly how i want 2 cut mine i appreciate all of the tips and advice, im goin 2 buy an iron and see what i can do  maybe it will turn out maybe it wont but ill post and let every1 know how it went. thanks again 4 the help |

thats the same iron i use and it works great mine was from myers tire supply though i paid like 90 bucks though  . it works great you set your blade depth and go to town . i would average a blade a tire , they break on me . also i did the same cut as them v treads and they hooked up pretty good . also i put a fan on me and the tire to keep the heat away and the little smoke to . good luck

i got the iron in today!! im workin on my rims at the moment welding some beadlocks on them. but ill be getting on the tire cuttin in the next day or so |

started cuttin my tires 2day and just got finished with them. i only cut 1/2in off each tread for a total of a 1 inch groove. took bout 2 hours or so. the tire iron worked great!!! no problems and easy 2 handle. thanks again ody.
