You need to change your oil pump to allow for an external cooler and then include the filter inline. After you change the oil pump, you can mount the filter anywhere you want.

About 97% of the woodsbuggies out there have remote oil filter mount, the pump-mounted types are only good for the street buggies, there are some out the in the woods that still runs them. I like the remote mount is because it helps keep the pump-mounted filters from getting tore off of the engine, to help clean the oil alot better, and to make it easier, cleaner to change your oil.

Hey. Just bouncing this around. Twice I have added this "Restore" product to my son's oil and a rod bearring would sieze about 4 or 5 rides later. Maybe it is clogging up the filter thereby starving the rod bearrings. Anybody else had this problem?Dave UPDATE He just didn't check his oil! A push rod tube broke. It's the last time the crank and block can be cut. Talked him in to a 1.8, 150 hp turbo Jetta for next spring. His 92x82 1 dellorto only put about 100hp brand new. After 34 years of buggy motor building it's past time to move forward.
