My is brandon (bmoore)im realitavly new to buggys but at 28 years old ive been around off road most of my life! my brother races quads proffesionally for a living. which in turn means i meet very interesting people and business' ... my brothers main sponser is a company leading the way in cutting edge technology in (a arm, trailing arm and overal fine tuneing of suspention parts domination!!!) in quads and side by sides!!! at this point i wont reveal the name of the company but they are very interesed in involving their selves in our sport WOODS BUGGYS and ive been asked to present it to see if there is sufficent public interest??? this company can mass produce a arm set ups front and rear with minimum self fab work involved allowing very intense fine tuneing on your suspension desires as well as offer close relationsips with top of the line shock companies that design shocks for every suspension component they design.. they are currently designing a set up for my sand fox frame at my request(big brother perks lol) but neither they nor myself want to see it stop there!!! so let me know what you guys think! this company loves the climb competition videos by the way!!! this could be a great start or just another dry idea? ya'll decide

Sounds great to me! The company needs to keep in mind cost will be a major factor amongst this crowd. Most will make things themself before paying a big price for stuff like that unless its REALLY REALLY beneficial and difficult to copy, at least I know I would.

I'd love to see it, anything new out there is another option on how to modify. By the way, sand fox frame here too, get em to ship a spare setup, lol.

cost! i totaly agree!!! and that was the first point i made today on the phone! again this is in the very beggining stages but they put my frame in their computer analysist and the comp designed a set of a arms for my rear suspension within a hour and the projected price was around 1050 for the rears (not a quote) but to me thats very very competitive considering... again moderate vab involved but it opens doors to an unlimited posibilty

About twice the price of extended arms. Doable, if there is more performance to justify the extra cost.

we discused this also! front 6" wider or stock width for starters! so it wont be to wide but again so far this is still just on a similation mode on a comp.

This has all been done before. They had a a-arm front end that bolts into the beam pockets. Looked real good, priced reasonable, didn't sell too good.

I started making ball joint to link pin conversion kit, everyone wanted a set untill it came time to pay for them, no takers. Now I can make them again, not sure if I will even waist my time.

Post subject:  Re: FINALLY NEW TECHNOLOGY FOR WOODS BUGGYERS

get us some pics when they are made up.not knowing what this price consist of but it would have to be a complete kit, from arm bushings all the way out to the spindle nut to get that much money for them.granted not every body has a place they can fab something up,but before most will jump on to the new wagon of a-arms and spend a grand,id say they would rather spend it on something else.i would like to try them one day but i will build my own probly, but who knows this may take off and be the next big thing of the buggy world.wish you all the best.have them bring a buggy with this set up to D&K on halloween weekend show it off at the hillclimb if its going to impress anyone this would be a place full of the people to do it at.thats probly going to be the best way to get your product to sell is to make people see it working in person.going to be a good trail ride there also bring it and test it out.chad

I thought bmoore said it was $1050 for REAR a-arm setup.

Not too many have done that. I've only seen it on full custom show/drag cars, or vehicles that have totally gotten away from a rear torsion beam altogether.

Post subject:  Re: FINALLY NEW TECHNOLOGY FOR WOODS BUGGYERS

THE $1050 WILL BE JUST FOR STARTERS.HOW ABOUT THE PRICE OF THE SHOCKS ADDED TO THAT? IM NOT TRYING TO SOUND SKEPTICAL BUT ITS GOING TO GET PRETTY EXPENSIVE BY THE TIME YOUR DONE. BUT I WOULD LIKE TO SEE A SET WORK ON A BUGGY. BRING`EM HALLOWEEN WILL CHECK`EM OUT ON THE HILLS!

Post subject:  Re: FINALLY NEW TECHNOLOGY FOR WOODS BUGGYERS

That will be a good price if it includes some sort of gear reduction to take some stress off the tranny,,especially after all the bugs are worked out .

Post subject:  Re: FINALLY NEW TECHNOLOGY FOR WOODS BUGGYERS

As said price may be pretty good at $1050, just depends on what is included. For what I have in my more conventional set-up with just longer arms, stubs, bushings, bolts... It adds up quickly.

Larry that owns the Speed shop in Hariman Tn. already builds the A arm set ups, just call him and he can fix you up. He is a great guy! I think he even builds them for the rear.

Post subject:  Re: FINALLY NEW TECHNOLOGY FOR WOODS BUGGYERS

we gave it a heck of a try. the a arms would have been nice but every design we came up with was going to be more fab work than the average buggy man would tackle for the price!!! (the answer) they designed a new frame that their products would simply bolt up to!!! awesome!!! but their budget wont allow production until estimated 2011. but this company remains interested in the buggy world,so i will stay on top of this and hopefully it will turn into more than a good idea in the future!

For companies these days "New Technology" today means that their prototype is in production within months. Even if its Jan 2011, that's one year and three months. Heck I could build something that fast in my little work shop by myself.

Well I'm not sure that their is any real benifit to Rear A-arms. I can't see how it would help travel, strength or traction. Now front A-Arms could be worth while. Travel is easy to improve, just gotta make it strong without adding a ton of weight. At least thats my opinion.
