I am thinking about buying another buggy. The guy says it's a bus motor, he doesn't know what cc. He said he was told that it is punched out 60 over and has flat top pistons with 13:1 compression. Any guesses? Any easy way to tell for sure? Thanks Kevin

Thats racing terms lol. I would have to agree with Chris, I'd say he doesnt have a clue of engine size.

This is the story I got on this buggy. Anyone seen it before? All VW bus drive train. motor is 13.1 compression.Fox shocks all around. CNC aluminum brake master cylimders and steering brakes and clutch.quick release steering wheel. Can be one seater or two. set up as two now. Full body tins and aluminum floor. All tube frame pro built. Very very fast! ! No motor or trany problems ever! Well cared for . Must sell !! Too many motors to feed already. Its all VW buss. three rib tranny.cant remember what gears but they r not stock. the motor is punched out 60 over with flat top pistons and too many other things to remember so i dont really know the true cc of it. I believe the original VW buss engins were around 1600 or 2000 cc but i mite b wrong. Its way above that now anyway. It will definatly haul ass!!!!! ha ha . It was built by a guy in ohio who races buggys and he raced this one for one season before i got it from him Here is the link http://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/rvs/1194020227.html

looking at where the exhaust ports are it looks like a type 1 engine which was in early model buses with 3 ribs and is the same as a beetle engine
looks pretty cool to me !
