Getting closer to title and plates time. Anyone on here ever do it in Illinois? At one time there was an inspection station down by Edgemont, IL but now it is not there. I had heard that they nown come out to your residence and inspect it. Can any one confirm that? I have tried the DMV special vehicle division, but all I get there is an answering machine. Illinois vehicle code 625(?) 3-804.1 and .2 cover street rods.

Thanks.

Try calling your state highway patrol office. I believe in Ohio the inspection is handled through them.

Titles for buggies here in Illinois have vin's that start with SOS, 6 digits, then ILL on a metal data tag. So we'll see where it goes.

in missouri the dmv puts the vin on. they will place it where you want. then over the pop rivets they have a special stamp so you cant take it off with out them noticing it. you get this after half a year of bs. thay also run the nubers on the motor and trans..

They can run all the numbers they want to. They will all come back clean. I even have a copy of the title to the donor S10 that the motor came from.
