I had one shipped to me recently in a double wall cardboard box. The guy wrapped it really well in plastic and then used expandable spray foam to fill in all around it. It was a pain to get out of the box but it worked really well. The foam doesn't add much weight. I've had them shipped in wooden crates also but it adds more weight. I haven't priced the spray foam but I doubt its that expensive and you don't need to worry about packing styrofoam or anything around it to keep it secure. |

Ive had two shipped to me in those large rubbermaid containers packed with newspaper and zip tie the lid on.. |
