 Post subject: Making my roof higher

alright Im raising my roof 4.5 inches. just in the front, I got tube that slides inside what already exists. 1.5in and brace the post in 3 different directions, is there any other way i can beef it up?

I would only suggest drilling some holes in the existing tube and plug welding to the sleve just to make it that much stronger. I don't know that any extra bracing is really necessary but definitely not a problem. The sleaved tubing should be just as strong as it was originally if done properly, possibly even stronger. On bracing just remeber triangles are your friend. Triangulated supports are very strong.
