You can always match black if you scratch it plus the sun doesn't fade it like it does most of the other rattle can colors. |

wildwillie wrote: for what youll spend on rattle cans you could buy a cheep cup gun and get some tractor pant with hardner it will turn out much better I've seen a few painted with tractor paint that really turned out well. You really gotta thin that stuff down to spray it though, its as thick as "black mammy". Me and Dad sprayed a old Farmall Cub and he thinned his paint with kerosene. LOL! It actually turned out pretty good and shiny, stunk like the kerosene for most of the summer but it finally left. I had $35 in Krylon Rust Tough rattle cans. Used to be that the dollar store stuff was pretty decent but not anymore, they must cut it with water cause it comes out runny and gloppy. The Krylon can actually throws a pretty decent pattern so you can cut in around things pretty well. |

I have been into this for 8 years. I am a Krylon man. I seriously doubt that I have spent $300 on paint in that amount of time. An that is on both that I have had. I personnaly like the crappy paint job look on a woodsbuggy. Every year I touchup the bare spots. I am not a detail guy though. As for color Black Black and more Black. |

I had a black one, I will never go back, because it is a pain in the a$$ to keep it cleaned-up. That's why I went for a brighter color, it shows the buggy works more and easier to keep clean. |

I tried to touch up the black packrat that I had and it was a waste of time, everytime I touched it up, went riding, power-washed it, then it takes off more paint that I put on prior to it. Powdercoat is the way to go. |

I have a black buggy and it is hard to keep clean. You should paint it tan. That way so matter how dirty it gets it will always look clean. Or there was the case of my buddy's derby car. He said "paint it however you want" so we painted it breast cancer pink. (the pink on the breast cancer ribbons.) My other buddy used a Wagner power sprayer. It really did a nice job, everything had a nice even coat of pink paint, the body, the wheels, the tires, the interior,.......

IMHO Powder Coat is the only way to go. In the long run its holds up way better than any paint and for touch up get paint thats close. |
