Hey Guys.,
I just bought me a new pipe bender. So no need to drive an hour to bend a pipe (thanks Kendel). I bought a JD2 model 3 and a few dies. I was just wondering if anyone had any tips or tricks theyd like to share with me. Or if they would just like to tell me a little about what they like and dislike about this model.. Also if anyone has any ideas aboout a hydro upgrade. I found some on the net but im still looking for more ideas.

Thanks
Nick

congrats on your purchase. using bend-tech 3-d software will save alot of waisted material. very simple and easy to use, very accurate, excellent customer service.

i have an extra older program that doesnt have the 3d on it but still works for basic bending. 40.00 for disc and book + shipping

to get started bend 1 90 degree piece that you have marked at the front of the die so you have a piece to locate the rest of your bends with do this for each die you have and you wil be way ahead. I consider that piece a "template" used in laying out other bends.

I think i might want slow aswell. But i definately take a look at some pics.. Also i thank you Kendel for the 90* idea that was the first thing i was gonna do. I remembered that much from your garage (not much more though lol). I read the Tube bending 101 on pirate 4x4 pretty handy piece of literature.... Anyways thanks guys for your input keep it coming..

Nick, sometime you are in the neighborhood, stop by and see how my bender works.
It will bend 2" x 0.125" without slowing the pump down. Not the fastest, but it does give you a little bit of time to think about what you are doing.

the software is nice, just plug in your dimensions and the program tells you where to start your bends. there is no guessing, less wasted material, accurate bends. well worth it i.m.h.o.
