i just put power steering on my buggy and love except for when change directions quickly it gets hard for a second then is fine.im using a new charlyn with 3/8 hose on the pres. and return side to the res. then 1/2 to the pump which is a 1985 honda accord with 1000 lbs pressure (measured) howe racing says my gpm is to small but i dont want to spend $300 for their pump and pulley.has to b a v belt pulley for vw.thanks for any help. |

Howe Racing says EVERYONE'S pump is to small to work. My Subie pump wasen't going to work according to them. Works just fine. You might need to go to a larger hose from the pressure side of the pump to the steering box. |

I think the pumps off a older Toyota Corolla or Camry flow about as much as any small pump and still make high pressure. They can be had for cheap out of the junkyard, give one a try and if it works buy a good one. |

Finally, I got one from a Toyota truck 22R (VERY easy to find), and it works perfectly. You can turn the pump @ 400 rpm (with a drill) and it STILL works perfectly... -Eric |
