While we were on our way back from the Bahamas we got to see the space shuttle take off from the Cape it was dark out over the ocean no light any where then it was like the Sun came up real fast man that thing was leaving a trail of fire 1000 FT out the bottom then when it got strait over us it blew off the solid rocket boosters then the fire went out and a brite light was comming out the rear of the shuttle then that thing left this world just about the time it was out of sight the sound wave hit the ship it shook then about 1/2 min later the second wave hit from the solid rockets blowing off it was one of the most awsome things I ever saw it was like 755pm when it took off
Wow been gone 7 days glad to be back can't freaking wait to go again it was warm and tropical came home it's cold

That's pretty cool.

We were in Sarasota several years ago and saw a night launch.
It was pretty bright even though it was on the opposite coast.

Little Man and I were there at Kennedy when STS 120 took off last October it was a sight to see and the sound wave was awesome. I know that what you seen was probably more impressive being at night. Glad you had a great time.
