Hi Guys, I just wanted to say a polite hello from Los Angeles, as I have just discovered this cool site.

A site which is dedicated to us "Woods-Blasting around in" guys, rather than the mega-travel, mega hp, $50 grand plus sand toyz that I see overhere all the time and can`t relate to......

I have a Prowlers Sand Sprite 4 with a modded Ford 2.3 (ported and polished everything) carb turbo mid-engine and a modded type 1 swingarm trans. My buggie is Stooopid fast in the woods on the sand or dirt, so long as it is FLAT...... Any kind of whoops and it jus` beats my a$$ up and I have to back off the throttle.

So I`ll be watchin` all the suspension topics here......

Thanks for the welcome, the terrain in the "off road riding areas" is mostly sand and packed dirt with only a few wooded areas to drive.

Fontana is about 25 miles East of me, I know it very well, lots of new houses have been built recently.

The weather here is still beautiful all year which is not always a good thing, because you can`t drive your buggy in the desert when it`s 100 - 130 degrees, thats when we drive at night which is much more exciting.

I`m building a new 2.3 turbo motor for my buggie, from a `88 Ford Turbocoupe and I will be keeping my carb (rather than going fi) for simplicity. I have ported the head, fitted a roller cam and am building a custom header for it also.

Painted in my favorite color, obnoxious grabber green.

Out with the old and in with the new.

The compression was low in my old motor and it was begining to smoke, it was just worn out from me having too much fun blasting around.

A shot of my rear end, next project increase the suspension travel.

This is my favorite place to drive at Blythe, which is situated on the border of California and Arizonia. A mix of sand at the "sandbowl" and dirt, lots of nice long runs as well as hills to blast around.
Image

A beer stop at the top of the sandbowl 150ft up.

My friends and I (girls too) posing for a picture before we set out on a huge game of chase around the desert, this is soo much fun. Karen (blonde, purple shorts and tanktop) usually wins because she has a fast VW motor and her buggy handles really well, plus she can drive that thing also....
