I am looking at what to run my throttle cable and Clutch cables through? I used brake line tubing the last time but what is better and works better?

I have always used Brake lines as well. However, this time I actually bought a Morris cable. So far is works well but so did the brake line.

I use plastic tubing designed for plumbers to make small supply lines out of. My buddy Yankee had a roll on his service truck! LOL! It works awesome for throttle cable. We put it on five buggies and no problems yet after a couple seasons. Wont rust and its kinda slick. Wont rattle like metal tubing. Curves pretty well. too. Ran it from a foot or so from the pedal all the way back right thru the shroud , and put a hose clamp on the very end of it to keep it from falling or pulling back thru.

I ran a hyd. clutch and a Morse cable on the throttle on my build...loved them both. The morse cable is a little pricey but has the advantage of being push/pull. I.E. if the carb sticks open with a morse you can use your foot to pull up on the pedal and get it unstuck, not possible with a typical VW type cable. It is also sealed. If I were to run a normal cable I would get a cheap roll of STAINLESS tubing from Summit Racing. It is cheap and easier to work with then you might think. It will last forever...just zip-tie an extra cable somewhere. I guess the ultimate tube type cable setup would be to take a teflon tube and shove it into a stainless tube then bend it to fit the car, but if you go to that length you will exceed the price of a morse. The big pain to a morse is figuring out what size to use. My local buggie shop let me buy a 6', 7', and 8' then return the unused ones as long as I didn't make any marks on them. If you realy want to fab stuff on your own you better order an MSC Idustrial Suppy catalog and a McMaster & Carr Industrial Supply catalog, they will send them to you for free! For those not working in "industry" the black and white pics in the catalogs can make the products look cheep but the parts in those books are what is used to build asssembly lines in the big 3 auto plants. No cheap stuff there. Just read the specs closely and you will get what you want. Various types of plastic tubing including teflon can be found there. McMaster & Carr even has a page explaining what types of plastic tubing to use in different applications.

the 96" was just long enough.

I switched to the morse cable a year or so ago and although there pricey it will probably be the last cable you'll ever need to buy.

I used plastic ice maker hook up tubing and a small braided steel cable. Both are sold at Lowes.
