just moved here from FLORIDA. The ground is a lot harder i,m used to running sugar sand trails and hills. What is the best rear tires to run. How bout them boggers

western KY . buggy is under construction but close to powder coating. been running around a bit but don't know where to go.I like hills and fast trails with jumps.anything close to Bowling Green

I think the Boggers work well. But most guys seem to run tractor tires. The Boggers are made to be cut and once you cut them they really flex. The tractor tires are harder to get to flex. They are designed to hold the weight of a very heavy tractor not a very light buggy.

Boggers will workgreat, but 23* Firestone v treads work better. 45* vtreads aint much better than A/T tires from my experience, unless you bolt 'em. The 4 plies flex like crazy (out of production for years), and the 8 plies will flex almost as well if you cut them right and soften them up. Its pretty common knowledge around here that the MOST extreme and VERY best conventional buggy hillclimbers there are run 23* diggers (v treads), as well as most of the guys who finish consistently at the top in the hillclimb competitions. But for the rest of us, I dont think it matters that much from bogger to 23* vtread as long as you got a good cut on your tires.

This has been an ongoing debate forever! Just run the opposite of what your buddies got, then you can always blame things on the tires!

I guess if you are talking about a big CD with a big ass motor on it, and you can turn some monster truck sized 44's or something, then yeah. Get the biggest damn boggers you can afford. Hell, cut the tree bars off and see if you can get some of BIGFOOT's take-off rims and dismount his diggers and put boggers on them.

And I can damn sure cross a rut two feet deep. All I gotta do is goose mine and jump it. Dont have to worry about not having enough ground clearance to drive down in it. A good runnin LIGHT RB can skim across the top of it. When for every 1 hp you got, it only has to push about 6 lbs, you can do that. LOL!
I might not climb a hill going in line with a pair of deep ass ruts, if I drop my tires in them. But I can steer my lil buggy good enough to center the ruts a lot of times. Not just point at the hill and mat it , hoping for the best. But if that is what someone likes to do, then thats what they should do.

Now lets get back to helping Mr. IRONMAN, and you and me can go to TT to continue our little debate if needed. If you wanna beat a dead horse, I'll beat on it with ya.

How about telling him some really useful facts and info to help him make his decision? You got a lot of knowledge and experience to share, so enlighten us. I was gonna let someone who runs boggers tell him the plus side of THEM, but I will do it if you'd rather just spend your time downgrading v-treads to him. I aint so one sided that I dont know the benefits of the other tire choice. I seen one RB climb like hell with them. I dont think I said nothing in my last post that cant be backed up with facts.

I got both,,I like the v treads on the hills ,,expecially with some topsoil still on them,,my boggers are taller and I have to adjust my gearing but I like them on rough trails. the smaller shorter diggers wind up quicker and my engine feels stronger with them. I''m not sure that a 31" tall bogger cut real well would not do just as well. I like the way my buggy looks with the 35" boggers. I would like an engine that will turn some 35x15x15 cut boggers like they were diggers..best of both worlds.. Dean outclimbs me everytime with his boggers. Run what you can get the best deal on. Or depending on where and what you ride on what your buggy will pull well.,,,confused yet,,,give us time

i got boggers,36"iroks and firestone 23,i like them all it all depends on where u ride,u bring them small tires to brutons and they wont do as well as boggers,the iroks work awesome where i ride at,jus ask firebug

o yea and boggers won the last hill climb at wilborns and wild willie is running firestones and he was 2nd

o yea and.... read my post a little closer. I said " most of the guys who finish consistently at the top in the hillclimb competitions". Run down what the top ten buggies at every comp there has been were running and talk to me some more. Not that those competitions prove jack about who can climb well anyways, they are uphill drag races no 'climbing' to them, I just thought I'd throw it in there.

the way i c it most people in alabama have boggers and ky has v tread i cant say for the other states that have buggies i have had both and i like my 35' bogger

I don't know, I know a few guys that got rid of their Boggers for 23* Firestones. I run Firestones and they take me anywhere I want to go. I will say if they made a 33 or 35x15.50x15 23* tractor tire, I'd have them. Keep them sharp and DRIVE smart, go anywhere you need to go.

44/18.5/15....... and cut them to the cords start to show.......... And if that don't work put about 100 or so 5/8 bolts with rod couplers, And hang on!!!!!! No, What I would do is listen to the guys in your area and run what they do.

I can add to this debate that 45 degree "V" treads just plain suck. So stay away from them. I did cut slots in mine and it was an improvement however I have not tryed to climb a good hill. The Jurys still out. I will say I am leaning towards a set of 35" boggers for the additional ground clearence and to compensate for my gearing. If you running a 486 or higher ring and pinion then consider the Bogger just because it is offered in a larger diameter to give you better wheel speed. If its a matter of economics than I would say that the 23 degree "V" treads is the way to go. A pair of 35" boggers is around $600 plus shipping. 23s are around $500.00. I have seen both climb very well.

now now boys first off i came in 2nd becuse im a show off so in sted of playin it safe and tryin to win the hill climb i went for big air and cool photos and you cant say that boggers won the hill climb cuse lots of buuys that didnt come close to winnin had boggers.and as far as witch tires to run? well run what u like booger are well priced and ezy to cut.m/t bajaclaws look cool as hell and may work good. me and many others hear in ky.like v-treds

DAM SOUNDS LIKE I NEED 2 SET O TIRES ONE FOR BAMA AND ONE FOR KY. i HAVE 31X11.50 MIKEY TOMPSONS THOUGHT ABOUT CUTTING EVERY OTHER LUG CAUSE THEY ONLY WORK GOOD ON PAVEMENT. ALSO HAVE 13.50 TERRA TIRES THEY WORKED GOOD IN FLA. I'M RUNNING AN 1835 WITH 44 WEBERS AND A STOCK 3 RIB. SEEMS TO BE GEARED LOW. ITS MY FIRST BUS TRANNY. SEEMS LIKE I COULD RUN TALLER TIRES 33-35 ???????????
