Could be a number of things, here are some to check, fuel filter clogged, trash in carb, carb jetted wrong, timing off, plug wire ends not making proper connection. Thats all I can think of right now? Hope it helps :)

if its a 40 or 44 weber it could be the idle jets stopped up

Try cleaning out your idle circuit REAL good. That usually fixes that problem. If that dosen't fix it, you may try changing the size of your idle jets.

Does it cut out when you try to bring it upstairs and then kinda 'come in' after it gets there?
Or does it cut out just at the top end, but accelerate decently?
Sittin in nuetral, or only when you are driving it, then get on it?

If its ok in nuetral, but bad under a load, could be ignition problem:
Check points (if you have them, and they look like you might need to replace, replace the condensor, too. Make sure it is Bosch stuff), cap, rotor button. Cheap plug wires will do this too, even when brand new sometimes. Did you gap new plugs correctly?

If it doesnt accelerate well, but comes in after you pedal the throttle a little:
See if your squirter nozzles pump as soon as you touch the throttle, and make sure they squirt a nice consistent stream. You can get junk in them, and the linkage rod/ pump diaphragm can get worn.
or, The idle jets/ main jets/emulsion tube combo could be way off, especially if its a single center mount Weber. Roy could line you out on that, He's a wiz on that set up.

If it accelerates ok, but lays down when it gets fully into the main circut, it could have junk in the mains jets. Not as common as junk in the idles, but it happens. Float could be set too low, and carb is runnin out of fuel. Fuel pump could be gettin weak and not pushin enough fuel, especially if its an electric one thats been in service awhile. If you have electric fuel pump, see if you have a fuel pressure regulator? About 2 psi is all you need on a Weber. Sometimes those regulators can go bad and lie to you.

Good advise Larry, when I had my r.b. it broke up bad on top end, ended up being plug wires failing. The ends wer rusted out insde where the wire connects to the end. Also gotta find the right carb/jet combo.

just a thought, but are you running points or electronic ignition --- points or condensor or both could be fried
