I'm looking for an old style Bumper jack to carry on my Buggy. The local bone yards here pretty much just laugh when I ask.

Me too!!!! If it wasn't for Bill, I don't know what I would do. The stuff he carries, he's my savior.

i carry 1 of those farm jacks from tractor supply -- its a bumper jack -- plus you can push off of trees / ruts , and use it as a comealong -- it was about 45 bucks i think

No dought, I stick pretty close to "Plumber the tool man Bill" on the trail. I have been collecting what I need to be self sufficent however I still need that Jack. I may weld two scissor jacks together to be able to raise the frame high enough. I have 4 of those.

I'll look and see if I have two left. I've took hundreds of these to the local scrap yard over the years.

Dont buy that junk. Get a real hi lift. They are about the same price. The china ones don't work as well and like to jam a lot. I've had both myself. When it was time to buy another jack, I bought a 60 in hi lift. The high lifts also come with a loop that bolts on to the rack so you can hook up a chain to it and the jack pad to use it as a hand winch.

Heres the cheaper version that isn't all cast. Its plenty robust for use with a buggy. I had one I used with my 83 K10 on 36's. It didn't have any problem lifting my fullsize truck.

I had seen that before. I actually ended up using a heavy duty scissors jack I had laying around. I welded a 1/2" drive socket on the screw and use an old rachet to turn it. I have used it quite a bit on the trails and it works well. It also does not take up a lot of room on the Buggy.
