Hey ya'll I had a cousin in Wisconsin that got killed in a 4-wheeler accident this weekend. He was being totally stupid like I see so many doing these days. He had a gal on the back and they were going up an incline (I don't think it was that bad either) and flipped over, she was o.k. but charlie didn't make it he died from head trauma, neither of them had on a helmet. It was about 9 p.m. And there was a little drinking involved. They were not at a riding area ,they were somewhere around the house. I just want to remind everybody how fragile the "ol' pumpkin" is , you may not get a second chance . remember , safety first ! even around the house ! see ya in the woods. |

Very sorry to hear that. Every time I see someone on a quad or bike without a helmet, I cringe. The family will be in our thoughts. My neighbor was killed on a Harley Saturday night. No Helmet, slow accident, not his fault. My family and I were on our way home from a movie and came up on the accident scene before EMS or police had arrived. His bike was barely damaged, he would've probably been fine with a helmet on, maybe like your poor cousin. WEAR A HELMET!!!! Larry |

Sorry to hear that Karen. In the last 4 years I have lost 4 friends to motorcycle crashes. All may have been avoided by wearing helmets. This is why I don't have a bike or a quad. I like to take chances and don't trust myself to always wear a helmet. I never thought about it till I knew some guys who died. |

Really sorry to hear that. I ride at Wellsville all the time and 90% of the people there do not wear a helment. A lot of them dont even wear shirts and are in tennis shoes and shorts providing no protection at all.. And of course most of them are intoxicated and should not even be on ATVs in the first place. Sorry Rant off. |

I have been riding motorcycles for many years. I do wear a helmet even though I hate that thing. I always tell people I'm not trying to prove my head is harder than the pavement. I have buried a few friends due to bike accidents. Some deaths a helmet may have saved them, some it wouldn't have. It's not a for shure thing that your gonna be fine because you had a helmet on, but I never heard of anybody getting killed from wearing one. |
