What's the best way to attach the cable to the gas pedal. I have the pedal with the three tapped holes for a 10/32 screw in the side and I have just a bare cable to attach. I was thinking a crimped ring terminal or maybe a sleeve with set screws?

I cut a small (about 1/2" long) piece of brake line then slid it over the cable then crimped a heavy duty ring connector to the cable then crimp the brake line over the ring connector this way is very strong.

I just bolted a small eye bolt to the side of the pedal thru the holes, then run the cable thru the eye and make a small loop out of the end of the cable with a couple cable clamps.
Sometimes heavy duty cables come with a small ring end on them you could run the 10/32 screw thru.

Each to their own, but morse cable didnt work out for me at all.
If you are gonna woods ride alot and get in muddy and/or wet conditions ever , it may hang up and bind up all the time after only a few rides.

Make it in to an oiler system and it will last a life time and never hang up!! The best system out there!

Hate to ask a dumb question (again) but what's an oiler system. Never heard of one.

You run your cable through a Brake line (some what bigger). Toward the back of the buggy you install an in line T with a short (1 foot) piece in the 3rd part of the T (with it pointing up) so you can add oil to the cable. As long as you keep oil in it (every 2 or 3 rides) it will not freeze up or gum up. Cheep but very reliable. There is a cable end that you can crimp to the cable to attach to the pedal. (I do not know what it is called) but it has a flat side to it so you can drill a hole in it to bolt it to the pedal. You can also buy the cables from a buggy shop with them already attached. ($7.00 to $15.00)

This is what I came up with. Will work for now. I'm sure I will modify the whole throttle cable, not real happy with the "feel" of it right now.

Rubber vacuum cap with a hole poked in the end works well as a boot to keep the water out of the cable jacket.

I've watched motor cycle mechanics make up custom cables. They run the cable across a soap or wax like block to pre lube it before putting it in outer sheath. Try phoneing some of your local bike or marine shops about it.
