OK... I have read a dozen different posts about tires and I am looking to get some input. I have a street legal woodsbuggy. I do not do a lot of street driving but sometimes I run to the store or between trails. When running on the street, I have a set of All Terrian tires. However, they suck off road.

I am looking for a good off road tire that I can run on the street and leave on the buggy when I flat tow it to the trails.

I really like the Bias Ply Super Swampers. They have a very aggressive tread and I think the Bias ply should allow for some great traction.

Since you guys have much more experience, I am very interested in your thoughts.

thanks
Dan

A BUDDY OF MINE BOUGHT A SET OF THE SWAMPERS LAST SPRING AND LOVES THEM. I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A SET MYSELF.

I have to agree with Chris38375. A buggy that is good at both is great at neither.

If you have to be dual purpose, I know a guy that runs baja claws on his daily driver F250, and they last him about a year a set, so I'm sure they would last you quite awhile just running to the store or whatever now and then.

I completely agree that it is not optimal to be both street legal and off road capable. But the wife and the kids love to cruise around. You know how it is.. I need to keep the wife happy or the dune buggy funds run dry.

As for the tires, I found a shop that is going to trade me some TLB super swampers for an old jeep top that I had. I will go with them for now and see how they work. They have to be better than the All Terrian tires I have now.

Thanks for the input.

Sounds like a good trade!! I've always thought it would be cool to cruise my buggy to work and it sure would make errand running more fun!
I'd wear out my lug wrench switching tires back and forth , though! I gotta have my diggers in the woods!

Boggers are a good choice, but remember if you cut them like a lot of guys do for more traction, they are not street leagle. I myself run boggers on the street, but i don't like them on the trail, 8ply rubber, too hard to get good traction in my opion, i like the goodyear tractor bars for the trail, they are 4 ply, softer, but they wear out sooner,
