i was riding my 4 wheeler and the chain came off and the gard for the front sprocket got riped off and it was apart of the engin so now i have a small hole in the case where it happend but the piece that broke off will match back up good and cover th hole is there something i can use to seal it togeather so i wont leak oil

Is the piece where its broken aluminum? If so, getting it welded would be the best choice, but... If its not under stress or no weight hangs on it, believe it or not, JB Weld should hold for a long time. Clean the area first with electrical contact spray cleaner or brake parts spray cleaner. Give it at least overnight to dry. Larry |

yea its aluminum and there is no stress in the spot it broke i got some jb weld at the shop i will try that |

we had a dirtbike that did something similar except it was on the clutch cover we jb welded that and rode it for yewars and it still held up to the day we sold it and a old friend of mine had a 98 xr 400 he never washed it the day he went to change the oil he went to back the drain bolt out and snapped a chunk of the case out we jb welded that also |

jb weld of magnum steel. we put many back together with the stuff. always the chain breaking and slapping back into the case. |

I used JB Weld for a hole in the side of a case... Clean it good ... NO Oil... I used a piece of aluminum screen, because I was missing a piece the size of a quater, just roughed up area around the hole so that there was something for the JB weld to grip to. I put a couple coats on.. Lasted a couple years, and it wasn't leaking when I sold it... Good Stuff

yeah jb weld will work good, used it on a few things. try to get the area roughed up pretty good like lucky said and get er clean. should do the trick. |

i seen a stick go through an oil pan and get repaired with jb weld and a beer can patch good stuff right there! |
