Alright, so I bought this vanagon transmission from a guy in New York and he said it ran fine. I believe that this is true, but take a look at these pictures and tell me how strong this transmission is now, due to the corrosion. I paid $375 to get it shipped here (not to mention it took over a month for him to pull it and ship it). Did I get a deal?

It's a mid-shift 091 Vanagon. I payed $260 plus $115 shipping |

Wow, you should definitely take that to the Trash Talk or Other Discussion section. That was THE most random comment ever. Any other opinions on the transmission? Should I trust everything to hold together? |

If everything is ok on the inside, then I wouldn't really worry about the corrosion. An overall pic might be better. I would take the bell housing off and look around. For the price, not too bad, imo. |

Water does. Just like rust on steel...this is basically the aluminum equivalent. Sucks. |

my trans looked pretty bad when i got it .I had it sadblasted he was able to smooth out most of the pitting before painting it. I got it sandblasted for $30 was well worth it.. |
