Where do I go to get a good tire groover? I want at least a 1/2 blade. I am going to get new tires soon and want to have a new knife to get them in shape.

Do they even make them that wide? I've never seen one.

The expensive ones with their own transformer can be fitted with a 1" wide cutter end.

You can get the litte ones in up to 5/8 " , that I know of. Got my small cutter at S&S racing. Its a roundy round shop here in Louisville. I'm sure he'd ship you one. It was like $79. Blades are about $5 a pack. His # is 502-361-1281. Works great, just takes a while. My 12 yr old son can do a 31 x 14.5 digger in about 6 hours. He charges $125 a pair. Sprinkle a little baby powder on the tire. Helps a little.

Dean,

That groover I sold you can be retrofitted with a wider head to accept a wider blade.
If you want one with a separate transformer like I have you would have to shop around. I bought mine on e-bay for 200.

I think I'll check on the wider blade first. That knife works well.

I altered the head on mine, I put spacers in between the head and the blade. Cuts a nice 3/8 to 1/2" goes deep to.
