thanxs for all the help and patience

my next question is what should i do for rear suspension

as in coil over or torsion

and 2x3 3x3 3x5

im running a subie 2.2 and plan to hill climb and drive

When I went to the 2.2 I lost a little ground clearance and gained a little weight. Build your arms as big as you can afford and go with airbags. The bags are lighter, cheaper, and adjustable from the seat. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. 8)

3x5 arms with coil overs will give you the best overall performance AND tune ability. Definitely use the 3x5's with the subie motor. If you don't, your front end will not stay down and it will not climb steep hills.

I'll have to go with Firebug I have coilovers on my buggy now the springs wear out .Plus it's hard to get the right rate you can spend a bunch of money on springs . I'm trying to go air bag now

ok i think im going to go with airbags for now

and 2x3 arms till i have the money to go bigger and go to 930's

so now i guess i need someone to help point me in the right direction for an airbag system.

Here are bags and a kit on ebay. It will give you an idea what you need . Seems like I found similar items at JC Whitney and Summitt racing. There are some other online companies as well. The bags you use may depend on the room you have to work with. I used the size next smaller but when I upgrade I may use these.

When you use air bags, you remove the torsion bars and sell them to somebody. The bag itself is now the spring that holds the buggy up.

I had sent those pics to Kendel and just copied and pasted . Is this causing a problem,,,,I will stop doing it that way. :eek: I went back and got the pic from photobucket this time. :oops:

Also when I installed I kept the torsion bars,,,just relaxed them,, slid them straight in with no pre stress ,This left in some weight but it gave me a sorta progressive spring rate. In other words the torsion bars aren't doing much until extreme travel then they kick in . I was told this is not necessary and may even be a bad thing to do but I haven't noticed any adverse effects...I may remove them when I upgrade. 8) When installing the bags get some specs on length open and closed and find a spot where the travel of your arm equals that , kinda like mounting shocks. If the torsion is removed you can tack it up, put the buggy up on stands, leave off the tire and it will be lighter and work the arm up and down to make sure there is no binding. Remember to use limiting straps . I also mounted some bump stops. good luck 8)
