Brett has Dave ever shown you a pic of his first woodsbuggy. It was the toughest thing I had ever seen. Of course I was 6. Maybe one of these days someone will buy one of these early woodsdbuggies and restore it. I would love to build a reproduction of Daves first one. I might use tubing instead of 4" pipe though. |

The first buggy I ever rode in/ drove was a beetle pan with a single 1.5" tube in the center going from the front to rear in an arch. It looked like a "D" turned 90 degrees with an engine hanging off the back. No wonder they wanted me to buy it! It was scary and dangerous! Luckily I didn't die, and actually had the best time ever. Even after I killed it on a hill, clutched it, and threw the throw-out bearing off the shaft. It didn't have anything to stop the clutch pedal from going to far. You just had to "know" how far to push the clutch. We pulled the engine, put the throw-out bearing back on and made the hill. That wasn't the only time it happened that day. Oh yeah, the alternator was shot too. Been hooked ever since |
