This isn't directly buggy related, my dad has a ford explorer and the dealer wants to give him an oil change and they will put in a synthetic oil. Tha question is will he have to stay with that synthetic for ever or can he switch back to regular oil?? I know the dealer will say stick with synthetic( more money per change) but will it hurt the engine. This may turn into a future tow vehicle. Thanks Dave T

No, it will not hurt the vehicle, but how many miles does it have? If it's got high mileage, I would stick with the synthetic oil, because it will do you better in the long run. If its got low miles (around 80,000 or so) it would not hurt to change it back to regular oil. I would use Castrol GTX oil and a good filter.

Go with the synthetic. It is worth it. You can switch back if you wanted to but why would you want to do that? The Exploder will get better gas mileage with the synthetic oil plus the engine will last longer.
